Our invitation to present at the 2013 Melbourne Brain Centre Symposium included attending the event dinner on the night before the event.

Held at University House in the Melbourne Law School (University of Melbourne), the keynote address was delivered by Professor Richard Faull from the Centre for Brain Research at The University of Auckland.  During his address, it was fantastic to hear Professor Faull stress the important role that community engagement plays in progressing scientific research.

Professor Faull’s insights were very much in line with the presentation we delivered at the symposium the following day, on the importance of science communication and the benefits on social media. For those who may be interested, this presentation is available to review on Slideshare.  The link to it can be found here.
