Across the last few weeks, the MStranslate Facebook page has placed a large focus on lifestyle modifications and how they can be used to help manage multiple sclerosis. As well as gauging how members of the MS community feel about different approaches in this regard, such as diet and exercise, we have looked at various research articles that have studied these topics.

We think that both of these sources of information are really important for people in the multiple sclerosis community to have access to.

Firstly, personal experiences help shine a light on techniques that have helped people in similar circumstances.  This often puts a human face on situations, helping reduce and/or remove feelings of “I can’t do that” or “this isn’t for people like me”.  Further, community insights play a key role in reducing the isolation felt by some people living with MS, reinforcing that they are not alone in the challenges they face on a daily basis.

Secondly, research into these areas can help provide a scientific basis for the use of such approaches.  This is important as it has often been tested across a large number of people and the clinical benefits, as well as quality of life measures, have been determined.  These studies are not only important for people with multiple sclerosis, but can also provide evidence and justification for medical professions to begin to recommend these lifestyle modifications as part of an effective MS management plan.

Following on from that idea, we are pleased today to be able to share with you a recent journal article written by members of the Menzies Institute Multiple Sclerosis Research Group from Tasmania.  This article has looked at four key areas of alternative multiple sclerosis treatment approaches (diet, exercise, cannabis and psychological) and summarised the key studies that have been conducted in these areas between 2001 and 2016.

We have received written permission from the authors of the publication to share the original article with you.  The article can be read in full below.  We will be discussing each of the areas covered within this paper in more detail over the coming weeks, but if you have any questions after reading it, please don’t hesitate to ask them either here or under the post on our Facebook page.

I was diagnosed with MS in 2009 at the age of 51. I woke up one morning with numbness in my lower back and right leg. This was on a Thursday. By the weekend I was totally numb from the waist down. I couldn’t feel my feet touching the floor. I saw my doctor on Monday and had an MRI to see if I had a disc problem. It was negative and she told me she feared MS. I was sent to a neurologist, had two more MRIs, and was told that night that I have four lesions on my spine – MS. I did the steroid treatments for few years but it all made me sick,so i was ask to try a herbal formula which i order from TOTAL CURE HERBAL FOUNDATION.
On Feb 2016 i started using the herbal formula the treatment worked incredibly for my MS condition without wasting much time before reacting on my body.
I used the TOTAL CURE HERBAL FOUNDATION MS Herbal formula for a total time period of 14 weeks,it totally reversed my Multiple Sclerosis. I had a total decline of all symptoms including vision problems, numbness and others. Sometimes, i totally forget i ever had MS.
Kindly email totalcureherbalfoundation gmail com to start getting rid of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Thanks for sharing your story, Tara, and we are pleased to hear that you have had such success managing your symptoms of MS. Are you able to provide some links to any scientific articles or trials that have been performed regarding this herbal formula? I would love to look into it in more detail and will do a summary of their trial results if they are available. Kind regards, Brett.
